THE AUDUBON BALLROOM
ONE NIGHT ONLY
THE AUDUBONO ONO
ACT I SCENE II
3/21/2021
PASTOR LADY COFFIE: Now growing up, I was what some may call, a daddy’s girl. I won’t deny it. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that my daddy would come to my rescue whenever I needed him. So, since I had confidence in my daddy, whenever someone did me wrong, or said something off the cuff, I would automatically say I’m going to tell my daddy. Take something from me, I would say I’m going to tell my daddy. If someone spoke to me in an inappropriate manner, I would say I’m going to tell my daddy. So while I was talking about my earthly father back then…
NARRATOR: This is Pastor Lady Coffie, a pastor at a local church that both my mom and Brittney's parents have attended. A very prominent, predominantly African-American church, in the area. You can note, this sermon was delivered months after on March 21, 2021; however, it is so relevant because the whole town knew what was going on and talking about it. Most of the pastors know each other. Most of the members of the community know each other; many of them have lived there for decades. The plot and actions prior and after the break up were a result of collusion with various members of the community, including members of church organizations and cultural organizations. Some members of these cultural organizations have claimed to walk with Malcolm X; well, they have repeated history.

MALCOLM X: Jealousy and envy that he ordinarily would incur among the heads of the church, whenever you go into an area where the church already is, you’re going to run into trouble. Because they got that thing, what you call it, syndicated, they got a syndicate just like the racketeers have. I’m going to say what’s on my mind because the preachers already proved to you that they got a syndicate.

ELECTED JUDGE: I see Pastor Jackson here today. Thank you Pastor Jackson, and all of you who have gathered here today. We do not count it as robbery to be here today.
NARRATOR: On January 16, 2023, an elected Judge gave a speech at the prominent local church, where she acknowledges the attendance of Pastor Jackson (Anthony or Patricia) in the audience during a special MLK Ecumenical Service. She also had something to say about people’s accountability for the words they say.

ELECTED JUDGE: I always say to them when they come in, I say, “Words don’t hurt, it’s how you react to the words.”
NARRATOR: A sitting judge just said it doesn’t matter what you say. As if defamation is not grounds for a lawsuit.

OLIVER DARCY (CNN): Jake, lies have consequences.
NARRATOR: Johnny Depp won $15M from his defamation case. Cardi B won $4M from her defamation case. With what you see next, how much do you think I can win?
LOVE > VIOLENCE
"Come where love has no limits. Where we are valued beyond any violence or war. May we live, we live to love another day."
