THE AUDUBON BALLROOM
ONE NIGHT ONLY
THE AUDUBONO ONO
ACT I SCENE XI
NARRATOR: On Christmas Eve 2020, Patricia calls the cops on me to talk to me about my suspended driver’s license, while I was NOT driving, sitting in the backseat. By the way, I got my license reinstated a few days afterwards on December 31, 2020.

911 DISPATCH: Flagler County 911, what is your emergency?
PATRICIA: I just needed somebody to come to the house to explain to her, the consequences of him driving her car again without a license.
911 DISPATCH: And who’s driving? Are you or is Jamal driving?
PATRICIA: I am doing the driving, I’m driving. So we need to, because he’s telling her he has a valid license.
911 DISPATCH: Ok, I understand that. I’m just trying to get some information so my deputies know what’s going on, because I don’t even know what’s going on. You called 911 for a life or death emergency, what’s going on?
PATRICIA: … Excuse me?... [silence]
911 DISPATCH: Ok, what is, what is he doing?

911 DISPATCH: You said you were in a high stakes situation, and I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on. Does she have a gun to your head? Is she threatening to hurt you? What is going on?
THE BABY: No, she doesn’t have a, she doesn’t have a gun to my head, but she is trying to hurt me because she is calling other law enforcement officers, including her own, her own, uh, significant other.
911 DISPATCH: Why is she calling, ok, but why is she calling to her, ok, why is she calling law enforcement on you?
THE BABY: That’s the whole point. I mean, I hope you guys come to the location. That’s the whole point.
911 DISPATCH: Sir, I am asking you, why… sir, ok sir, why are you, are you, can I ask my questions or are you going to keep on talking over me?
THE BABY: Ok. [laughs] Ok.
911 DISPATCH: Why is she taking you to your house?
THE BABY: I thought I was the victim here, I thought I was the victim here.
911 DISPATCH: You are and I’m trying to figure out what is going, sir, you are, you, I’m trying to figure out what, I’m trying to get to the bottom of this and figure out what’s going on, ok.
NARRATOR: A large segment of this story significantly relates to why marijuana should be fully legalized and available to cultivate personally, because people (non-patients, non-consumers) can still use the negative stigma to defame and manipulate other people in order to cover up a crime of their own.
